Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and regulatory compliance, with a strong understanding of various accounting standards and systems. This role is critical in ensuring accurate internal reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Manage and oversee all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax and other regulatory requirements related to corporate accounting.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes while ensuring timely submission of financial statements.
- Support budgeting processes, forecasting activities, and financial planning initiatives.
- Manage treasury activities and support processes to optimize liquidity.
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
- Utilize accounting software such as Business Central, other financial management tools for accurate record-keeping.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and prepare regulatory reports as required.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on accounting changes and propose changes
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes through automation and implementation of best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting (big 4 is a plus) with a focus on financial reporting and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Business Central, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing the closing process, account reconciliation, financial analysis, treasury, and internal reporting.
- Background in, process documentation, identifying root causes and effectively communicating process improvement.
- Excellent understanding of technical accounting concepts including general ledger reconciliation and account analysis.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
