Role Description The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will provide full-scope midwifery care, including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic services for a diverse patient population. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting office visits, performing assessments, managing pregnancies and births, providing contraceptive counseling, and collaborating with physicians and other clinicians to coordinate care. The CNM will participate in patient education, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and follow evidence-based guidelines and practice protocols. This is a full-time, on-site role based in New Haven, CT, requiring participation in shared call coverage.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in midwifery and maternity care, including prenatal, labor, birth, and postpartum management.
- Strong foundation in nursing and medicine, with the ability to perform comprehensive assessments and provide evidence-based care.
- Knowledge and skills in family planning, including contraceptive counseling and reproductive health education.
- Current Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification/licensure and eligibility with graduate degree in Certified Nurse Midwifery from an accredited program.
- Experience in collaborative OB/Gyn practice settings and comfort working with diverse populations.
