Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols
- Provide compassionate Alzheimer's and dementia care, employing effective memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Operate equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers and mobility needs
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and shared spaces
- Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and report any changes in residents’ conditions to supervising staff
- Support residents’ social engagement through companionship and participation in recreational activities
- Drive residents when needed for appointments or outings, ensuring safety at all times
Experience
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Familiarity with long-term care practices, including resident’s
management and group home environments - Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s care techniques to support memory care needs effectively
- Experience with vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic first aid procedures
- Comfort working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support
- Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently for documentation purposes
- Prior caregiving experience involving personal care homes or retirement communities is advantageous
- Valid driver’s license for driving residents safely when required
