Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure solutions for our enterprise clients. In this contract W2 role based in Plano, TX, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable, secure AWS environments that drive business innovation. Ideal candidates bring deep AWS expertise and a proven track record of delivering high-impact cloud migrations and architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end AWS solutions using services like EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, and EKS, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Lead cloud migration strategies, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and refactoring workloads to AWS.
- Design and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Perform security assessments, implement IAM policies, encryption, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA).
- Optimize AWS costs through FinOps practices, Reserved Instances, and Savings Plans.
- Collaborate with DevOps, development, and stakeholder teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and microservices.
- Conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs), performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior architects, and documenting architectures for production deployment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (or Associate with intent to certify).
- 5 years of hands-on AWS experience, including 3 years in solutions architecture.
- Proficiency in AWS Well-Architected Framework, networking (VPC, Direct Connect), and serverless architectures.
- Strong experience with IaC tools (Terraform preferred), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring (CloudWatch, X-Ray).
- Excellent communication skills for presenting solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- U.S. work authorization required (W2 contract; no C2C).
Preferred Skills
- Certifications: AWS Specialty (Security, Networking, or Advanced Networking).
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid environments (Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
- Knowledge of Agile/DevOps methodologies and tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with data analytics (Redshift, Glue) or ML services (SageMaker).
