Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant Aid to join our dedicated team in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Duties
- Collaborate with activity coordinators to develop diverse programs that promote socialization, cognitive engagement, and physical activity for residents with various needs.
- Assist in setting up and decorating activity spaces to create welcoming environments for events and daily activities.
- Support residents during activities by providing encouragement, assistance with mobility, and helping with participation in planned events.
- Help organize special events, outings, and themed celebrations that enhance community spirit and resident enjoyment.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation, preferences, and feedback to tailor future activities effectively.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities, including assisting residents with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff through clear communication and compassionate caregiving.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly desirable, especially with Alzheimer’s care or dementia care.
- Knowledge of recreational therapy principles and program development tailored to seniors’ needs.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents of varying cognitive and physical abilities.
- Familiarity with schedule management to coordinate activities efficiently throughout the day.
