We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to pediatric patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics, schools, home health, and inpatient facilities. Your expertise will help children with diverse needs—including neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, and sensory processing challenges—achieve their developmental goals and improve their quality of life. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families through evidence-based practice, innovative treatment plans, and compassionate patient care.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to evaluate motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive abilities, and daily living skills in pediatric patients.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's unique needs, incorporating goals related to ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), fine and gross motor skills, and sensory integration.
  • Implement engaging occupational therapy programs that support neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), facilitating skill acquisition and behavioral improvements.
  • Assist children with ADLs by teaching self-care techniques, improving independence in dressing, feeding, grooming, and toileting activities.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical professionals—to ensure comprehensive care and seamless case management.
  • Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR), including progress notes, treatment updates, discharge planning documentation, and care plans.
  • Support discharge planning by preparing families for ongoing therapy needs at home or in community settings and providing caregiver education on therapeutic strategies.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with pediatric populations in outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient units, or home health environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pediatric occupational therapy assessments and treatment plan development for children with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder.
  • Familiarity with working with students with special education needs and implementing occupational therapy programs within school settings.
  • Experience working with individuals across age ranges—from early intervention programs to school-aged children—and understanding the unique developmental milestones involved.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to pediatrics and physiology relevant to occupational therapy interventions.
  • Prior involvement in acute care settings such as hospitals or skilled nursing facilities is preferred; ICU or post-acute care experience is a plus.
  • Ability to utilize evidence-based practices effectively while maintaining clinical documentation standards; experience managing electronic health records (EHR).
