Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join its growing finance team. This role is responsible for managing billing, collections, account maintenance, and customer communication while ensuring timely and accurate billing processes. Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly billing and follow up on outstanding account balances
- Maintain customer account information, including account status changes and billing records
- Monitor aging reports and proactively resolve outstanding balances
- Post payments, charges, and account adjustments accurately
- Complete daily cash deposits and maintain cash balance records
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accounts are billed correctly
- Track claims and ensure successful processing through the billing system
- Prepare month-end reports and support financial reconciliation activities
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders regarding billing questions and payment issues
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
- Associate's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 2 years of billing, accounts receivable, or collections experience
- Healthcare billing experience is a plus but not required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and overall computer proficiency
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy
