We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Cashier/Customer Service Representative to join our retail team. In this role, you will be the friendly face of our store, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions and assisting customers with their needs. Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide product demos when appropriate
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including balancing registers at shift end
- Assist in merchandising efforts by stocking shelves and organizing displays to maximize sales potential
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance customer satisfaction and increase revenue
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering inquiries over the phone
- Support inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and ensuring product availability
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both English and bilingual settings if applicable
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is a plus
- Demonstrated supervisory experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform light physical tasks such as stocking shelves, and work flexible hours including weekends
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude in a grocery store or retail environment
