Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair residential electrical systems including wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute projects.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and power tools to identify issues efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes for safety and quality assurance.
- Perform high-voltage and low-voltage wiring installations on construction sites or during renovation projects.
- Follow electrical safety procedures diligently to protect yourself, team members, and clients at all times.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete installations with precision and efficiency.
- Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and homeowners to deliver seamless electrical solutions tailored to each project’s needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a residential electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems in homes.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and blueprint reading is highly desirable.
- Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), and local electrical codes is essential.
- Ability to perform high-voltage electrical wiring safely and accurately in accordance with industry standards.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage systems, schematics interpretation, and electrical blueprint reading.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
- Additional skills such as handyman experience or frame carpentry are a plus but not required.
