What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Facility Manager position at Congregation Shearith Israel?
Congregation Shearith Israel is seeking an Assistant Manager to serve within our Facility Department. Responsibilities include assisting with building and grounds maintenance and repair, custodial services, and preventative maintenance.
This hands-on position will report directly to the Facilities Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Building Maintenance and Repair
- Maintenance - Includes assisting the Facilities Manager with all facility systems used for the operations of our 95,000 square foot facility, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC and landscaping. Keep a maintenance schedule for routine and preventative maintenance functions for the building and grounds. Assist with obtaining bids from outside vendors.
- Repairs - Make repairs as needed, including patching, painting, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
Set Up and Custodial Services
Assist with meeting and event set-up, sound checks for all services and internal and rental events, including special holiday set-ups, day school and religious school set-up needs. Supervise and/or assist with supplemental cleaning and custodial functions, as needed.
Qualified individuals will possess the following experience/skills:
- A minimum of two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of a facility and grounds.
- Must be mechanically inclined with the ability to do some carpentry functions.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and emergency on-calls.
