TITLE: Part-Time Bookkeeper/Accountant
Congregation Agudas Achim (CAA) is a Conservative Jewish synagogue located in Northwest Austin that is seeking a dynamic individual to support our bookkeeping and accounting functions.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The part-time bookkeeper/accountant will assist with day-to-day and long-term accounting functions for CAA. They will ensure clear, consistent, transparent, and detailed data for day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly/quarterly reconciliation, and timely and accurate production of financial reports. This position reports to the Executive Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Entry in QBO
· Obtain receipts and supporting documentation for credit card charges and enter into QBO
· Calculate how much of food/supply vendor payment goes to food, kitchen supplies, or facilities supplies
· Match and categorize transactions in QBO
· Verify GL and class coding are accurate and consistent
Data Entry in ShulCloud
· Enter charges into ShulCloud
· Enter check payments into ShulCloud
· Run reports from ShulCloud for various purposes
· Process payments through ShulCloud gateway as needed
Accounts Payable
· Schedule and pay vendor invoices
· Maintain vendor information
· Pay reimbursements to staff and volunteers for expenses incurred on behalf of the synagogue
· Record and document payments in QBO, including the GL code and class (download/upload invoice and payment receipt documentation)
· Verify facilities-related invoices with Facilities Coordinator before payment
Assist with monthly and quarterly reconciliation:
· Generate and distribute monthly reconciliation reports
· Compare reconciliation reports with the Summary of Liabilities
· Assist with reconciliation transfers
· Working with outside accounting firm and Executive Director and generating monthly and quarterly financial reports for distribution to the BoD Finance Committee
· Create, maintain, and utilize spreadsheets of varying complexity
· Benchmark quarterly reports against the annual budget
In collaboration with the Executive Director:
· Identify and investigate anomalies and inconsistencies between financial reports and budget
· Create year-end budget projections
· Monitor financial performance in real-time
Other Duties as Assigned:
· Assist with generating W-2s and 1099 at year-end
· Ability to process payroll
· Research financial questions
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance
· High-level proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel
· Understanding of fund accounting preferred
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline preferred
· Experience with Bill.com preferred
· Experience with ADP preferred
JOB DETAILS:
· Part-time; 24 hours per week
· Position is on-site, days and hours are flexible, but schedule should be consistent.
· A successful candidate will have reliable transportation to our north central Austin location.
· Weekend and evenings may be required to support synagogue meetings and functions

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
