What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cloud Architect (AWS) position at Conglomerate-IT?
We are looking for a cloud architecture professional who can take end-to-end ownership of designing and evolving cloud ecosystems that power business outcomes. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, engineering, and operations — ensuring cloud environments are resilient, secure, scalable, and financially optimized.
You will work closely with leadership, developers, and engineering teams to translate business needs into robust cloud solutions while continuously improving the overall cloud maturity of the organization.
What You’ll Drive
- End-to-end design and rollout of cloud environments spanning public, private, and hybrid models.
- Creation of long-term cloud strategies and transformation roadmaps aligned to business direction.
- Execution of cloud migration and adoption programs with minimal operational disruption.
- Development of high-availability, scalable, and performance-driven cloud architectures.
- Evaluation and selection of cloud platforms and services based on cost, capability, and fitment.
- Governance frameworks covering cloud security, compliance, and operational standards.
- Integration of cloud systems with existing enterprise platforms through cross-team collaboration.
- Continuous improvement of cloud platforms by adopting new technologies and best practices.
- Active participation in cloud initiatives, contributing architectural expertise and recommendations.
Leadership & Collaboration Expectations
- Act as a technical anchor for cloud architecture decisions across teams.
- Guide engineering and development teams on architecture patterns, DevOps adoption, and cloud best practices.
- Mentor team members and enable capability building across cloud technologies.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure cloud solutions remain aligned with evolving business needs.
Cloud Cost, Security & Optimization Ownership
- Track, manage, and optimize cloud spending to ensure maximum ROI.
- Apply cost-control mechanisms including autoscaling, rightsizing, and scheduling strategies.
- Ensure strong implementation of security practices such as IAM, encryption, and monitoring.
- Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments to strengthen security posture and compliance adherence.
Required Technical Strength
- Strong command over cloud ecosystem components: compute, storage, networking, databases, and serverless architectures.
- Deep familiarity with DevOps frameworks including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of modern cloud architecture patterns and distributed systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Experience & Background
- 8 years of hands-on experience in cloud architecture and solution design.
- Proven expertise working with AWS cloud platform.
- Strong exposure to AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars, including:

Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
