The Opportunity
Conger & Smith and Owen Title Company are seeking a highly reliable, detail-oriented bookkeeper to support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of our Georgia and Florida offices.
This is a hands-on role supporting multiple related entities, including a law firm and a title company. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys keeping systems clean, numbers accurate, and financial operations running smoothly—and who is comfortable working directly with ownership and leadership.
This role can be based in either Bainbridge or Tallahassee, with flexibility depending on experience and fit.

Conger & Smith is a transactional-focused law firm with offices in Georgia and Florida. Owen Title Company operates in close coordination with the firm, handling real-estate closings and title services across both states.

Key Responsibilities
The bookkeeper will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple related entities (law firm and title company)
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Bank and trust account reconciliations
- Recording deposits, disbursements, and operating expenses
- Assisting with payroll processing and payroll reporting
- Tracking revenue by entity and practice area
- Preparing monthly financial reports for ownership
- Coordinating with outside CPA/accountant on tax filings and year-end reporting
- Maintaining organized financial records and supporting audits or reviews
- Supporting both Georgia and Florida operations as needed
Who We’re Looking For
- 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
- Experience supporting multiple entities is strongly preferred
- Prior experience with a law firm, title company, or professional services firm is a plus
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Discretion and professionalism with confidential financial information
- Comfortable working independently and communicating with firm leadership
- Ability to work in-office in Bainbridge or Tallahassee (hybrid possible depending on role evolution)
