Summary:Position Reports To: Vascular Supervisor/Technical
- Ability to perform independently high quality diagnostic vascular ultrasound examinations following Confluence Health's Vascular department policies and procedures, adhering to the current standards established by Society of Vascular Ultrasound.
- Prepare a preliminary sonographer structured report including all pertinent data for the reading vascular surgeon in a timely and efficient manner.
- Recognize and alert the attending reading physician of dangerous or critical findings which need immediate attention.
- Assist the physician in the performance of venous ablation procedures and other special procedures.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills with physicians, colleagues and support staff in accordance with the Confluence Health standards to promote best quality patient care.
- Participates in the training and orientation of vascular sonographer students completing their clinical internship.
- Maintains required continuing medical education credits for professional credential and IAC specific requirements.
- Attends required departmental meetings, in-services, peer review and case presentations Participates and attends required quarterly quality improvement meetings and processes to satisfy the mandatory requirements of our IAC designation.
- Maintains Professional certification in vascular ultrasound through ARDMS and or CCI.
- Knowledge and proficiency with current hospital information systems (EPIC), Vascular structural reporting and PACs archive/ retrieval. Basic computer knowledge required.
- Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Satisfactory completion of a formal vascular technology ultrasound training program and one-year full time clinical experience in a dedicated vascular laboratory. Active status RVT. Or graduate from a diagnostic ultrasound training program (2-4 years) with at least 1-year additional full-time clinical experience in a dedicated vascular lab and active status RVT. Or approximately 2 years of college with emphasis on the biological sciences with minimum of 5 years full time experience in a dedicated vascular laboratory and active status RVT.
- Valid state driver’s license and reliable vehicle transportation.
- A working knowledge of computers, accurate keyboarding skills, and email communication.
