A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who delivers care to patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and other health care team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. (Washington State Nurse Practice Act, WAC, ANA Code of Ethics). Charge RN promotes a professional team-based environment within and with other departments and ensures collaboration with department leadership that patients receive high quality, safe care.

Position Reports To: Nurse Manager

1. Demonstrates communication and interactions in accordance to Confluence Health’s Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance.
2. Perform related assignments as requested in order to promote positive visitor, family, and co-worker relations.
3. Serves as a consultant, mentor and role model to staff.
4. Demonstrate a commitment to providing the highest and most reliable quality service available on a daily basis.
5. Be responsible for addressing inappropriate or unacceptable behavior on the part of a co-worker(s).
6. Active participation in problem-solving identified issues.
7. Follows through on problems that may compromise patient care by using the appropriate chain of command.
8. Assists with the orientation of nursing personnel to the unit and contributes to the educational experience of students assigned to the unit.
9. Coordinates and makes assignments for patient care taking into account patient needs, acuity, and skill mix of staff.
10. Actively participates in quality improvement programs.
11. Demonstrate ethical conduct and practices.
12. Maintains a clean and safe environment for patient and staff according to hospital and unit policies.
13. May be assigned to respond/lead in a Code Blue or RRT depending on the department.
14. Preforms/assist with duties outlined within the Inpatient Registered Nurse Job Description
15. Adheres to Confluence Health and Central Washington Hospital/Wenatchee Valley Hospital policies and unit standards as applicable.
16. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
17. Other duties as assigned

Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN standard).
• RN Current licensure in the state of Washington (RCW 18.88) or licensure through Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (SSB 5499).
• Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, keyboarding, email communication and password management.
