Assignment Details
- Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Shift: Days (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM)
- Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Perform pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery
- Assist with patient positioning, surgical preparation, and procedural support
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Follow facility policies, procedures, and evidence-based nursing practices
- Support patient safety and quality care initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Critical Care experience required
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently in a high-acuity clinical environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Pre-Operative nursing experience
- Experience with large-bore IV insertion
- Medication administration and patient skin assessments
- Assisting with arterial lines, central lines, and epidural placement
- Patient transport to the operating room
- Experience assisting with induction, intubation, positioning, and surgical preparation
- Previous travel nursing experience
Additional Information
- Occasional late stays may be required (1–2 times per week)
- Floating within scope and experience may be required
