Overview
We are seeking a data-driven Safety Officer specializing in Driver Behavior to monitor, analyze, and improve the driving habits of our fleet operations and rental clients. You will own our telematics and driver safety programs, using data to reduce collisions, lower fuel costs, and prevent wear and tear on assets. Your core mission is to transform driving data into actionable coaching programs that eliminate high-risk driving behaviors like speeding, harsh braking, and distracted driving.
Duties
- Telematics Monitoring: Manage the fleet telematics platform (GPS, camera systems, and electronic logging devices) to track real-time driver metrics, including speeding, rapid acceleration, sharp cornering, and harsh braking.
- Behavioral Scorecards: Design, maintain, and distribute weekly and monthly driver safety scorecards to identify high-risk drivers and track fleet performance trends.
- In-Cab Technology Management: Oversee the deployment and calibration of in-cab safety tools, including AI dash cams, collision avoidance systems, and distracted-driving alerts.
- Incident Reconstruction: Analyze telematics data and video footage during accident investigations to reconstruct events, establish root causes, and determine preventability.
- Policy Enforcement: Develop and update corporate Safe Driving Policies, including mobile phone bans, seatbelt compliance, and fatigue management rules.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2 years of experience managing fleet safety or driver behavior, specifically utilizing telematics platforms (e.g., Geotab, Samsara, Motive, or Verizon Connect).
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in telematics software dashboards, video review systems, and Excel for data trend analysis.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and coaching skills, with the ability to give constructive feedback to drivers without creating conflict.
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
