What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal, Community Association Collections position at Confidential?
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to support our growing Community Association practice, with a primary focus on collections and related legal proceedings on behalf of homeowner and condominium associations.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment, can independently manage a high-volume caseload, and is comfortable communicating directly with clients, property managers, and homeowners regarding sensitive account matters.
What You’ll Do
- Manage approximately 200–300 active collections matters from demand through resolution
- Prepare and process legal documents related to collections, lien enforcement, foreclosure, and related proceedings
- Review homeowner account ledgers, payment histories, and account discrepancies
- Coordinate with attorneys, community managers, and boards regarding case strategy and status updates
- Draft correspondence, notices, pleadings, and settlement-related documents
- Open and maintain case files, obtain deeds and ownership records, and ensure accurate case tracking
- Monitor deadlines and maintain compliance with firm procedures and applicable collections laws
- Provide proactive communication and high-level client service throughout the collections process
What We’re Looking For
- Prior paralegal or legal support experience required
- Experience in collections, creditor rights, community association law, landlord/tenant, foreclosure, or real estate law strongly preferred
- Experience handling high-volume case management in a law firm environment preferred
- Familiarity with FDCPA and collections processes is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
Pay: $28.00 - $31.50 per hour
