Nursing Home Administrator – Champaign, IL
Salary: $95,000–$120,000 per year
A skilled nursing facility in the Champaign, Illinois area is seeking an experienced and motivated Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to lead daily operations and support continued success in quality care, compliance, staffing, and resident satisfaction.
The Nursing Home Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the overall management of the facility, ensuring that all departments operate efficiently and in compliance with state and federal regulations. This position requires a strong leader who can guide department managers, support staff development, maintain survey readiness, improve census, and promote a positive environment for residents, families, and employees.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in skilled nursing facility operations, strong knowledge of IDPH and CMS requirements, and the ability to manage both clinical and non-clinical operations. This individual should be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and have the leadership skills needed to improve performance, maintain compliance, and support high-quality resident care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the skilled nursing facility
- Ensure compliance with IDPH, CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and all applicable state and federal regulations
- Lead, support, and hold department managers accountable for operational goals
- Maintain a strong focus on quality of care, resident satisfaction, and family communication
- Prepare the facility for annual surveys, complaint surveys, audits, and regulatory reviews
- Develop and implement plans of correction when necessary
- Monitor staffing levels and work with department leaders to support recruitment, retention, and employee performance
- Manage facility budgets, expenses, census goals, and overall financial performance
- Support census development through relationships with hospitals, referral sources, families, and community partners
- Promote a positive workplace culture built on communication, accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care
- Review facility performance indicators and take action to improve outcomes
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed consistently throughout the facility
- Serve as the main point of leadership for residents, families, staff, vendors, and regulatory agencies
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Nursing Home Administrator license required
- Prior experience as a Nursing Home Administrator strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of skilled nursing facility operations
- Knowledge of IDPH, CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, survey process, and long-term care regulations
- Ability to manage staffing, budgets, census, compliance, and quality measures
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, employees, and community partners
- Must be organized, dependable, professional, and able to make sound decisions under pressure
Compensation:
Salary range is $95,000–$120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
