What are the responsibilities and job description for the Motion Graphics Designer / Video Editor position at Confidential?
We’re looking for a Motion Graphics Designer / Video Editor who knows their way around a timeline, can spot a bad cut from a mile away, and doesn’t panic when someone says, “Can we get this by EOD?”
If you live for short-form content, keep up with trends (without rolling your eyes too hard), and enjoy turning ideas into scroll-stopping videos—keep reading.
What You’ll Do:
- Edit short-form videos that people might actually want to watch
- Create motion graphics that make content look polished, not PowerPoint-y
- Work with a creative team that has ideas (lots of them) and deadlines (even more of them)
- Turn rough concepts into finished videos—sometimes quickly, sometimes very quickly
- Add voiceover, music, and sound effects that don’t make people mute the video
- Format content for every platform and aspect ratio known to mankind
- Keep up with trends so we don’t accidentally feel “out of touch”
- Juggle multiple projects without dropping the important ones
What You Bring:
- 1–3 years of video editing experience (bonus points if you’ve survived short-form content demands)
- Solid skills in Adobe After Effects (and the rest of the Adobe suite)
- Experience creating content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
- The ability to take a project from idea → edit → final without needing constant hand-holding
- Strong attention to detail (yes, we will notice if something is one frame off)
- Good communication skills—you can explain your ideas and understand others’ feedback
- A basic understanding of what performs well (and what flops)
- Videography skills are nice, but not a dealbreaker
