GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Human Resource Generalist will play a critical role in supporting HR functions that are essential for the success of our organization. You will be responsible for various HR activities, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, performance management, and compliance. The Generalist's expertise in HR practices will be instrumental in shaping our workplace culture and ensuring a productive workforce.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruitment and Staffing:
Collaborate with Regional and Distribution Center managers to identify staffing needs.
Assist TA in conducting candidate sourcing, screening, and interviewing processes.
Assist TA in the recruitment process from posting job openings to extending offers of employment.
- Onboarding and Orientation:
Develop and enhance the onboarding process to provide new hires with a seamless and engaging experience.
Ensure all required paperwork, training, and equipment provisioning are completed efficiently.
Coordinate introductions to key team members and departments.
- Employee Relations:
Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
Promote a positive workplace culture by addressing employee issues promptly and professionally.
Provide guidance and support in adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Performance Management:
Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal processes.
Support managers in setting performance goals and conducting performance reviews.
Identify opportunities for employee development and training.
- Benefits Administration:
Support employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, and wellness initiatives.
Educate employees on benefit options and facilitate open enrollment processes.
- Compliance and Legal Matters:
Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations specific to retail and warehouse operations.
Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
Assist in handling legal matters, such as employee disputes and disciplinary actions.
- Training and Development:
Identify training needs within the organization and collaborate with HR leadership to develop training programs.
Facilitate or coordinate training sessions on various HR topics, compliance, and skill development.
- HR Metrics and Reporting:
Collect, analyze, and report HR metrics to monitor workforce trends and identify areas for improvement.
Use data to support strategic decision-making within the HR department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist in merchandising and warehouse operations.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employment laws.
- Additional multi-state employment law experience is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and MS Office Suite.
- Bilingual in Spanish is required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (If applicable):
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:
- Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, subject to change
TRAVEL:
Minimal, dependent on Business Needs.
