We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can be a Heavy-Duty Mechanic & Welder for our Woodinville area shop. We perform all of our own maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, pick-up trucks, farm tractors, trailers and a wide variety farm equipment including small engine repair.
Job Description:
- Assess and prioritize the repair and maintenance of diesel trucks, tractors, trailers and a host of various other heavy-duty farm equipment. Perform annual and quarterly DOT inspections.
- Utilize electrical, welding and general mechanical skills to problem solve. Fabricate machines, tools and other items as necessary.
- Perform preventive maintenance work on all equipment as scheduled. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures utilizing diagnostic tests of electrical circuits, hydraulic systems & mechanical process.
- Work/repair equipment in the field; communicate with the General Manager about equipment requiring lengthy or costly repairs.
- Abide by all safety rules and regulations. Recognize and correct any safety related issues.
- Operate a forklift and efficiently use various hand and power tools.
- Complete work orders and other assigned paperwork as directed.
- Safely climb on top of, around and under machinery as needed.
- Must be able to reach, with arms, stoop, crouch, crawl and the ability to lift, on occasion, up to 100 pounds.
- Hours: 6:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. (Overtime necessary depending upon needs)
Qualifications:
- The desirable candidate would have a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to 3 years of full time as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
- Highly motivated self-starter. Must be able to work schedule as posted and overtime as necessary.
- Pass a drug screen prior to employment in this position.
- Speak, understand, read and write the English Language.
- Meet physical requirements of the job.
- Common sense, good judgment, dependability, problem solving and the ability to lead people is a must.
- The ability to fabricate and weld metal.
- A good working knowledge of hydraulic systems, and the ability to diagnose and repair pumps, motors, rams etc. Good electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting repair skills. Fleet experience would be helpful.
- The experience and ability to operate and maneuver/steer equipment and machinery.
- DOT certified preferred. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Attention to detail, work independently and schedule flexibility. Experience (must be verifiable):
- Heavy Equipment Mechanic: 3 years
- Welding Experience: 3 years
- Industrial Hydraulic systems: 3 years
Benefits available for full-time (30 hrs/wk) regular employees include medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, six paid holidays per calendar year, 401k (after one year) and PTO days (start accruing at .027 per hour worked and increase with years of service).
