We have the following position available:
Fleet Shop Manager
The Fleet Manager has the experience to lead and supervise multiple technicians and has a high level of proficiency and working knowledge working on diesel engines, trailers, heavy equipment, reefer units, small tools, tires, and servicing.
Compensation:
- Salary: $90,000 - $115,000/year

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead, educate and develop shop department employees.
- Monitor employee performance and be accessible to all areas of the shop.
- Plan daily manpower to meet workload.
- Coordinates and directs the activities of all shop personnel, including mechanics and welders.
- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of Utility trucks, Semi trucks, small tools and heavy equipment.
- Purchase parts and tools. Maintain Purchase Order Records. Vendor Management.
- Maintain records, monitor truck inventory and tracking of tools.
- Conduct safety training and meetings.
- Monitors workflow and ensures tasks are completed in a timely manner and to company standards.
- Administers DOT and preventative maintenance programs while ensuring shop personnel are following safe work practices, including BIT inspections and CARB compliance.
- Ensure company vehicles and equipment are maintained to company performance and visual standards.
- Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiency.
- Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairs.
- Maintain communication with other departments regarding equipment’s operational status.
- Provide support to the operations team regarding all equipment related issues.
- Adhere to and enforce safety policies.
- Update and Interact with the fleet maintenance system.

Requirements:
- A valid California Driver’s License with exceptional driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, during the interview we will discuss your success and failures with management style, escalation, and dealing with diversity.
- Prior technician/mechanic experience is required.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to motivate large groups.
- Good decision-making, problem-solving and communication skills
- Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations
- Good understanding of Microsoft software, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Previous experience managing heavy-duty mechanics and thorough knowledge of engine, hydraulic, and transmission mechanical repairs.
- ASE certification is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
- Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
- Ability to walk, sit, stand, touch, stoop, lift, and climb.
- Ability to move and position heavy objects.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
