Summary
MGT is seeking a contract employee to support one of our valued clients on an ongoing assignment in the Providence, Rhode Island Area. This is an initial 3-month contract with intent to renew for a long-term need. The client is open to candidates at either the Director of Accounting or Senior Accounting Manager level. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience improving controls, reporting, and financial processes in a complex environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead accounting activity across treasury support, revenue analysis, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Administer wires, ACH transactions, vendor payment setup, and related banking activity across multiple account types.
- Oversee billing, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger analysis to support accurate reporting and revenue recognition.
- Maintain revenue, budgeting, forecasting, and incentive-related models used for planning and analysis.
- Support loan, investment, and debt service accounting, including schedules, reconciliations, and month-end activity.
- Prepare month-end and year-end reports, audit workpapers, disclosure support, and financial statement schedules.
- Partner with senior finance leadership on compliance support, reporting improvements, and process enhancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Strong technical accounting background with progressive leadership experience.
- Advanced Excel skills are required.
- Experience with financial modeling, reconciliations, budgeting, and month-end/year-end reporting.
- Experience supporting treasury, debt service, investment accounting, cash management, or similarly complex finance functions is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills in a deadline-driven environment.
