Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs to produce precision parts and components. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed CNC programs for various machines such as multi-axis CNC milling machines and multi-axis CNC lathes using CAM software and manual programming techniques.
- Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure precise machining operations.
- Set up CNC machines, controls, tooling, fixtures, robotics and inspection devices within the programming softwares.
- Conduct test runs to verify program accuracy and make necessary adjustments to optimize machining performance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of programs, setups, and process changes while adhering to lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, mechanical engineers and production teams to troubleshoot machining issues involving horizontal & vertical machining centers, single spindle and dual spindle, multi-axis lathes, Swiss screw machines and electrical discharge machining (EDM).
- Ensure safety standards are followed during machine operation, protecting operators, machines, tooling, fixtures and in-process inspection equipment from harm.
Skills
- Proficiency in G & M code programming, with knowledge of macro programming. Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic work holding, along with chucks, collets systems and live tooling a plus.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCad,) and blueprint reading skills.
- Experience with CAM programming softwares (Gibbs CAM and/or Fusion) to generate efficient toolpaths for various types of ferrous and nonferrous materials, plastics and exotics materials.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, part inspection and machine maintenance.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings with GD&T specifications for precision manufacturing.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances in manufacturing setups.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in production workflows.
