Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in Primary Care.
- Take and record vital signs accurately; perform patient intake and prepare patients for examinations or procedures.
- Collect specimens such as blood samples through phlebotomy and prepare them for laboratory testing.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently, ensuring precise documentation of patient information, medical history, medication administration, and procedural notes.
- Provide patient education on medication usage, treatment plans, and health maintenance strategies while demonstrating excellent patient service skills..
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; experience in outpatient or inpatient settings for a minimun of 2 years.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation standards.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and specimen handling; basic life support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical assisting best practices.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast pased enviroment.
