Job Overview

Distribution Company in Farmingdale, NY is seeking a motivated Flex Warehouse Associate / Delivery Driver to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. This position is responsible for picking and packing orders, loading and unloading delivery vehicles, and safely operating a fleet vehicle to deliver orders to our customers.

This is a truly flexible role — no two days are exactly alike. Some days will be warehouse-focused, with responsibilities such as picking and packing orders, maintaining an organized workspace, and managing inventory. Other days will be driving days, with responsibility for loading up and delivering orders to customers across assigned routes. And on some days, you’ll do a mix of both — starting in the warehouse and finishing on the road, or vice versa. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

• Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently in the warehouse, following established procedures to ensure order integrity and on-time fulfillment.
• Operate a pallet jack or reach truck as needed to move and stage inventory safely.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage.
• Assist in warehouse organization by moving inventory, stacking pallets, and maintaining accurate stock placement.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, including tidying work areas, disposing of waste, and conducting regular housekeeping checks.
• Complete paperwork for loading and unloading of vehicles accurately and on time.

Delivery & Driving

• Drive a delivery vehicle safely and efficiently in accordance with company standards and all traffic laws.
• Operate automatic transmission vehicles — which may include a 22-foot box truck, an 18-foot box truck, or a Sprinter van, all equipped with a liftgate — depending on the day’s requirements.
• Prepare delivery routes, plan schedules, and execute route driving to meet delivery deadlines.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good condition for delivery (no mechanical or electrical issues).
• Load and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
• Complete paperwork for deliveries (parking, billing, proof of delivery, etc.).
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging professionally with clients during deliveries, answering questions, and addressing concerns.

Safety & Equipment

• Report any maintenance problems to the warehouse manager or dispatch center manager promptly.
• Ensure that all equipment is in good working order before and after use.
• Keep the warehouse area and delivery vehicle clean inside and out.
• Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, vehicle operation, and warehouse procedures.
• Follow all company policies and applicable safety regulations at all times.

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience in a warehouse environment as a driver or in a relevant position.
• Prior experience in warehouse operations, order fulfillment, or logistics is highly preferred.
• Experience picking and packing orders in a warehouse or distribution center environment is a plus.
• Proven delivery driver experience with a clean driving record; familiarity with route driving is essential.
• Valid Driver’s License required; prior experience driving a box truck (18-foot or 22-foot) or Sprinter van is required — No CDL License required. All vehicles are automatic transmission.
• Experience moving pallets using a pallet jack is required; experience operating a reach truck is a plus.
• Knowledge of how to best use vehicle and warehouse equipment, including GPS, liftgate, pallet jack, and reach truck.
• Familiarity with basic vehicle inspection and maintenance checks is beneficial.
• Good computer skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills; customer service background is a strong plus.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical moving tasks regularly throughout the shift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking is a plus.

Because this position requires the operation of a commercial vehicle, a valid and satisfactory driving record is a bona fide occupational requirement. Any driving record review will be conducted in accordance with applicable New York State law and will be directly related to the driving responsibilities of this role.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
