Quality Management System (QMS) Engineer - Electronics Manufacturing

Our client is seeking a QMS Engineer to be responsible for maintaining, improving, and ensuring compliance of the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO standards and customer requirements. This role leads internal and external audit activities, supports certification cycles, drives corrective actions, and partners closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to strengthen quality performance across the facility.

Responsibilities:

Quality Management System Ownership

  • Lead internal audit programs and ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and QC080000 standards.
  • Coordinate external certification activities with accredited third‑party bodies.
  • Facilitate Management Review Meetings and prepare required documentation.

Audit & Compliance Management

  • Oversee UL‑related safety compliance processes.
  • Conduct ESD compliance audits and manage certification activities.
  • Prepare for and support customer audits, including on‑site assessments.
  • Ensure audit evidence, records, and corrective actions meet regulatory expectations.

Corrective Actions & Root Cause Analysis

  • Lead structured problem‑solving activities (8D, CAPA, SCAR)
  • Track nonconformances, trends, and quality metrics using statistical tools.
  • Perform root‑cause investigations and verify effectiveness of implemented actions.

Engineering Change Control

  • Support line qualification and process validation activities.
  • Coordinate weekly ECO status meetings and ensure timely closure of actions.
  • Review Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO)

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and QMS enhancements.
  • Provide feedback on quality risks, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with product engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • All education levels considered.
  • Experience with engineering change control processes (ECR/ECO)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead 8D, CAPA, and root‑cause investigations.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and project‑management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, cross‑functional environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and related QMS standards.
  • Proficiency with Minitab, statistical analysis, and quality management software.
  • 2 years leading cross‑functional quality initiatives or supervising technical teams.
  • Hands‑on experience conducting internal audits and supporting external/customer audits.
  • 5 years of experience in product engineering or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • ISO Lead Auditor Certification.
  • CQE (Certified Quality Engineer)
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience with UL safety and ESD compliance.

Working Conditions:

  • PPE provided as required.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional travel for audits or certification activities.
  • Combination of office and production‑floor environments.
  • Standing and walking required during audits and inspections.

Salary : $51,000 - $60,000
