A privately held real estate investment and development firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Analyst to support underwriting, financial modeling, market analysis, and transaction execution across a national portfolio. This role works closely with Acquisitions, Asset Management, Leasing, and Finance to evaluate investment opportunities, support strategic decision-making, and help drive portfolio performance.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and excited to take on meaningful responsibility in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models in Excel and ARGUS for acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, development, and leasing scenarios.
- Prepare cash flow projections, IRR/NPV valuations, sensitivity analyses, and return scenarios.
- Review and extract key terms from leases, loan agreements, and operating agreements.
- Conduct market and competitive research including demographic trends, trade area mapping, rent comps, and sales comps.
- Assist in the preparation of Investment Committee memos, lender request packages, and transaction presentations.
- Support due diligence efforts, including tenant credit review, lease audits, financial statement review, and third-party report coordination.
- Track property and portfolio performance, including lease rollover, rent escalations, occupancy, and value-add execution progress.
- Assist with portfolio reporting, dashboards, and presentation materials for leadership and investment partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in acquisitions, asset management, investment analysis, or related real estate financial role (compensation aligned to experience).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ARGUS (required).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and financial outcomes.
- Familiarity with research tools such as CoStar, Placer.ai, LoopNet, Trepp, etc.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to present insights concisely to leadership.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in retail and mixed-use real estate is strongly preferred.
