Woodworker (Experienced)

The Woodworker role will be working alongside the Woodshop Lead assisting in the fabrication, assembly, and finishing of custom marine products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Expert use of wood working equipment e.g., table saw, band saw and wood routers.
  • Gluing and clamping of hardwood parts.
  • Daily quality inspections of wood parts in progress.

Essential Functions:

  • The setup and preparation of all woodshop machinery and tools.
  • Interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and architectural drawings.
  • Preparation of wood materials, including cutting, sanding, and finishing according to specifications.
  • Assembly of pieces using marine epoxies to create the final product.
  • Continually inspect in progress work and finished products for quality control.
  • Maintenance of woodshop machines; cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn tools.
  • Keep work area and woodshop clean, organized, and secure.
  • Collaborate with other team members including skilled woodworkers, project managers, and designers to achieve project goals.
  • Adhere to company operating procedures, build on and create improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Marine Hardwood (cutting, gluing, clamping) knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and be exposed to outside heat or cold temperatures during some tasks.
  • Follow plant safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Basic understanding of shop drawings/specifications and varying dimensions using caliper or ruler.
  • Excellent communications skills; ability to work individually and in a team.
  • Strong work ethics with attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong desire to learn.
  • Understand and retain various items and part numbers.

Experience:

One to two years of woodworking experience, carpentry or related field.

High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience.

  • Monday to Friday
