Walmart Account Manager (Sr. Category Analyst)
GENERAL PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for helping achieve sales objectives consistent with company volume projections, market share, and profit targets. The Analyst will aid in the creation of quarterly and fiscal sales plans, which includes volume and gross sales forecasts, core distribution and new item innovation gains, pricing management, merchandising execution, trade spend budget and retail objectives with Walmart. The Sr. Category Analyst will work directly with the Walmart Sales Manager and understand that this position will evolve into an account manager role in the near future.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze syndicated and retailer-specific data (e.g., NielsenIQ, Circana/IRI, Walmart Retail Link/Luminate) to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities
- Develop actionable insights to support category reviews and joint business planning with Walmart
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Insights teams to align strategies and execution
- Monitor category and competitive performance, including pricing, promotions, assortment, and shelf positioning
- Support forecasting, promotional analysis, and post-event evaluations to improve ROI and effectiveness
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders and customer-facing meetings
- Private Label – assist and work directly with the Director of Private Label on maintaining and growing our Private Label business at Walmart.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Broad knowledge and experience in the Grocery (Food & Beverage) Industry
- 5 Walmart category analyst and/or Sales experience
- BA in Business Administration preferred
- Demonstrated prior success in achieving results working with Walmart Category Teams utilizing category & consumer insights/data
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling skills
- Self-Starter and highly motivated; can work in different environments
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with data visualization tools a plus
- Willingness to take on a Sales role
