Our client, a growing consumer products company headquartered in Lenexa, KS, is seeking a strategic, results-oriented Director of Sales/Business Development to lead enterprise growth initiatives, expand market presence, and diversify revenue streams. This leadership role will be central to executing the company’s strategic objectives, including customer diversification, expansion into high-growth categories, and continued growth in retail channels.
Founded in the early 2000s, the company has evolved from a niche product line into a nationally recognized lifestyle brand, with products sold through major retailers, specialty outlets, and hospitality channels. With strong in-house design, merchandising, and operations, the organization brings innovative products from concept to market quickly.
This role is ideal for a relationship-driven sales leader who thrives in building national retail partnerships, opening new accounts, and scaling sales infrastructure within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic business development to drive revenue growth, customer expansion, and market penetration across domestic and international channels.
- Expand into new retail channels and locations, including casino programs and specialty product lines.
- Strengthen and grow existing key accounts to maximize long-term revenue opportunities.
- Scale core product categories, including apparel and lifestyle merchandise, across major retail partners.
- Partner with merchandising, design, and operations teams to align product strategy with market trends and customer demand.
- Develop scalable sales infrastructure, processes, and forecasting to support organizational growth.
Ideal Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 10 years of progressive sales and business development experience within consumer products, retail, or lifestyle brands.
- Proven success managing and growing large national retail accounts.
- Experience building or scaling sales infrastructure, teams, and go-to-market strategies.
- Strong ability to manage long sales cycles and collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising and design teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of driving revenue growth in fast-paced, evolving environments.
