We are seeking a highly accomplished, experienced professional to serve as a key member of our Consumer & Retail Strategic and Financial Communications practice. This role requires deep expertise in developing and executing high-impact communication strategies for clients across the Consumer and Retail sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Advisory: Serve as a senior strategic advisor to C-suite executives (CEOs, CFOs, Boards) on critical communication matters, including:
- M&A, IPOs, restructurings, and activist defense.
- Earnings reporting and corporate reputation management.
- Crisis and issues management.
- Program Development: Develop and implement integrated, forward-thinking financial communications programs (e.g., investor relations, transaction communications) and strategic communications plans tailored to the CPG, Retail, and Restaurant industries.
- Client Growth Support: Actively support new business development efforts, securing and growing retainers by demonstrating deep sector knowledge and compelling strategic value.
Financial and Transactional Communications Expertise
- Provide expert counsel during complex transactional situations (mergers, acquisitions, divestitures), including messaging development and stakeholder communication.
- Guide clients through investor relations challenges, including quarterly earnings cycles, crafting investment narratives, non-deal roadshows, and responding to analyst inquiries.
- Demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of financial markets, key industry trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory environments relevant to the consumer sector.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- 15 years of progressive experience in strategic communications, investor relations, investment banking, or corporate finance, with a significant and non-negotiable focus on Consumer & Retail sectors (CPG, Big Box Retail, and/or Restaurants).
- Deep familiarity with industry-specific KPIs, trends, and stakeholder groups.
- Proven track record of success in supporting new business development and successfully managing complex, high-value client accounts.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex financial and operational information into clear, compelling narratives.
