JOB OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for leading and supervising maintenance operations during second shift. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures equipment, facilities, and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and company policies. This role is hands-on, leadership-focused, and critical to supporting production reliability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead, direct, and support a skilled maintenance team
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment and facilities
• Ensure adherence to GMPs and food safety standards
• Promote a safe work environment including Lockout/Tagout and confined space compliance
• Collaborate with other department leaders to resolve issues and drive improvements
• Maintain maintenance records and prepare equipment and project reports
• Identify problems and implement innovative, cost-effective solutions
• Support preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Electrical: 3-phase power systems, print reading, drives, NEC fundamentals
• Electronics: digital/analog systems, board-level troubleshooting
• PLCs: Siemens and Allen-Bradley platforms, programming, ladder logic
• Instrumentation: calibration of sensitive equipment
• Hydraulics and Pneumatics: print reading and rebuilds
• Mechanical Systems: conveyors, pumps, drives (belt/chain)
• Welding and Fabrication: MIG, TIG, Stick, brazing, cutting tools
• Plumbing: layout, pipe sweating, print reading
• HVAC: ammonia and freon systems, chillers, rooftop units
• Boilers and Combustion Systems
• Compressors, fire protection, and sprinkler systems
• General building and facility maintenance
LEADERSHIP & WORK STYLE EXPECTATIONS

• Train, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians
• Communicate clearly and effectively
• Resolve conflict and motivate team performance
• Balance administrative responsibilities with floor presence

QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Four (4) years of experience in mechanical or electrical trades preferred
• Vocational training may substitute for up to two years of experience
• Experience in processing, packaging, or industrial utilities preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Authorized to work in the United States
PHYSICAL & SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Comfortable working in cold environments (40°F or below)
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, and climb as needed
• Availability for overtime, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week and varied schedules
