Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Registered Nurse role based in Plano, TX. The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care, including pre-visit assessments, post-operative monitoring, medication administration, and ongoing symptom management for orthopedic and spine patients. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with physicians and other clinical staff, supporting procedures, educating patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations, and documenting care accurately in the medical record. The role involves triaging patient calls, assisting with pain management protocols, and reinforcing safety, infection control, and quality standards in all clinical activities. The Registered Nurse will also contribute to care coordination, patient flow, and continuous improvement of clinical processes.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas; graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Demonstrated clinical skills in orthopedic, spine, surgical, or related musculoskeletal care settings, including post-operative care and pain management.
- Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and care planning abilities, with attention to safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and to educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), accurate documentation, and basic computer skills for clinical workflows.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- BLS certification required; ACLS or other relevant certifications in orthopedic or perioperative nursing preferred.
- Prior experience in an orthopedic, spine surgery, sports medicine, or outpatient surgical practice is highly beneficial.
