POSITION: Budget Technician
SALARY: $23.08- $28.82 DOE, per hour
REPORTS TO: Department of Transportation Director
LOCATION: Department of Transportation, Nespelem, WA
Basic Functions: This is a Non-Exempt position. The incumbent of this position is responsible to perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accurate accounting records of the Department of Transportation Program.
Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
- Requires an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or closely related field; and thirty-six months (36) months of professional experience in the field of personal finance; or Combination of sixty (60) months of education and work experience in the accounting or financial field;
- May Require a Valid Drivers License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires proficient knowledge of utilizing computer aided systems.
- Requires knowledge of collection practices; accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Requires the ability to write and speak clearly, concisely and accurately.
- Requires the ability to perform the essential responsibilities and work tasks of the position.
- Requires the ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet rigid schedules and strict timelines.
- Requires ability to work with administrative staff, peers, other departments, and contractors.
- Requires the ability to initiate and conduct technical research, complete complex arithmetic, algebraic, and statistical computations, solve highly technical problems associated with payments.
- Requires ability to function indoors in an office environment.
- Requires sufficient hand-eye-arm coordination to use a computer keyboard and 10-key plus arm/hand movements to retrieve work materials and operate a variety of general office equipment.
- Requires visual activity to read words and numbers.
- Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations over the phone and in person.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
