Starting Wage Range: $18.86/hr. - $24.07/hr.
Job Summary:
Provides safe transportation to our Main Street Recovery residents for various activities and events. Provides driving services for Main Street Recovery Residents.
Essential Functions:
- Provides safe transportation for Main Street Recovery Residents to but not limited to events, day trips, overnight trips, and recovery meetings.
- Provides assistance in the Recovery House as needed.
- Helps Safety Techs with other duties as assigned.
- Assures vehicles are cleaned on a weekly basis.
- Reports any concerns about residents to the Recovery House Manager immediately.
- Ensures residents are safe during transports.
- Transports residents to medical appointments and recovery meetings as needed.
- Provides assistance to residents that have been transported to events making sure they have what they need through the entire event.
- Maintains proper fluid levels in vehicles used, and reports any mechanical problems to the proper person.
- Documents all transportations of residents in the appropriate paperwork.
- Documents any incidents immediately and contacts supervisor.
- Works closely with the Recovery House Program Manager in other duties as needed.
- Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Licenses:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Requires one (1) year of experience working with the elderly population or closely related experience.
- OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Driving Requirements:
- Must maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license or obtain one upon hire, qualify for the Tribe’s vehicle insurance, and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.
Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications:
- If employee is in recovery, must have 2 years of sobriety.
- Basic kitchen knowledge preferred.
- Must have ability to obtain a CPR/First Aid certificate within 60 days of hire.
- Must have ability to obtain a Food Handler’s card within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to drive in various conditions and time of day.
- Must have the ability to receive and understand direction and communicate with staff.
- Must be dependable and team oriented.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture required.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication.
- Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
- Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally.
- Occasionally requires lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- This position is often subject to inside environmental conditions which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is frequently subject to outside environmental conditions.
- Supports a safe work environment by performing all duties in accordance with Tribal safety policies and procedures, and Emergency Management Plan.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
- May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during emergencies.
- Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required.
