Announcement #2025-351 Issue Date:11-24-25Closing Date:12-02-25Game Worker (On-Call)Tribal SchoolDepartment of Human ServicesHourly Wage: $15.90/Intermittent/On-CallThe Game Worker is responsible for assisting with the setup, operation, and supervision of home athletic events at Yakama Nation Tribal School. This position plays a key role in ensuring that athletic events run smoothly, safely, and in accordance with school and WIAA policies. Game Workers represent the school and Yakama Nation with professionalism, respect, and pride during all athletic contests.Examples of Work Performed:Assist with event setup, including score tables, seating, signs, and field or gym preparation.Operate scoreboard, clock, and sound system during games as assigned.Greet and assist visiting teams, officials, and spectators.Monitor entry areas to ensure safety and a positive environment.Help collect and manage gate admissions when assigned.Support supervision of student and community spectators to promote good sportsmanship.Assist with cleanup and equipment storage after events.Report any issues, incidents, or safety concerns to the Athletic Director or school staff.Uphold Yakama Nation Tribal School's values of respect, integrity, and teamwork.Maintain a professional and positive attitude while representing the school and community.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Basic knowledge of sports and athletic event operations.Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively as part of a team.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Dependability and punctuality in attending scheduled events.Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced or crowded environment.Basic problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.Understanding of safety and emergency procedures.Ability to interact respectfully with students, staff, officials, and the public.Minimum Requirements:Students 18 and older may be eligible with approval.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and variable hours during the sports seasons.Reliable transportation to and from the school.Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.Must possess a valid first aid card.Must have no history of child abuse or neglect.Must have no history of drug or alcohol abuse.Must pass a background check and meet Yakama Nation Tribal School employment requirements.Required to pass a pre-employment background check.Required to pass a pre-employment drug test.Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.Preferred Requirements:Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
