What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infrastructure Technician position at Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes?
The Infrastructure Technician is a diverse technical position in the Information Technology Program that assists with the responsibility for providing on-site and remote support including design, installation, and maintenance of structured cabling, door access and camera security systems within the Tribes' Information Technology Program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess an Associate of Science in Computer Science or relevant related degree from an accredited university with one (1) year experience working in an enterprise-level
networked environment. OR current Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) certification and one (1) year experience working in an enterprise-level networked environment. OR two (2) years of increasing responsibility and experience working in and supporting business computing in an enterprise-level networked environment. If the selected candidate does not possess the BICSI at the time of employment, the employee must complete the testing and obtain the certification within one (1) year of date-of-hire. Failure to obtain the required certifications within the timeframe is grounds for termination of employment. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. A criminal record may automatically disqualify the applicant. Falsification of any part of the application will automatically disqualify the applicant. Any infraction of the law, which would cause failure to pass the background check, is cause for immediate termination of employment. Experience and certification with installing and maintaining network wiring such as category 5 and 6 NTP, multi-mode fiber optical, and coaxial cabling and terminations is preferred. Experience with development, deployment, maintenance, and problem resolution of camera security systems is strongly desired. Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work for efficiency. Must demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and ability to work with minimal supervision. Skill in oral and written communication. Ability to utilize search engines for troubleshooting. Experience in Microsoft desktop and Server operating systems is desired. Knowledge of IP video surveillance systems, evidence package, audit trails, criminal investigations, and Tribal Police operations is desired. Ability to work effectively with other employees and provide excellent customer service. Must have and maintain a valid Montana State driver's license as a condition of employment.
