Description
Conexon is a rapidly growing telecommunications company working with Rural Electric Cooperatives to build advanced fiber to the home (FTTH) networks nationwide along with the subsidiary Conexon Connect that is an internet service provider bringing broadband to rural communities.
This position would have primary responsibility of supporting the accounting team of this growing business and will have the opportunity to advance with the business. This position will be based at the Conexon headquarters near downtown Kansas City.
Requirements
Essential Functions
- Manage accounts payable process with bill creation and vendor payments
- Be a key contact with vendors and outside partners
- Manage customer receivables and apply payments
- Administer general bookkeeping entries
- Ensure compliance with an internal system of standard procedures and processes
- Assist in annual audit process
- Oversight of our payroll practices with a view to compliance, tax management, state withholding and unemployment tax setups, appropriate deductions and management of retirement plan responsibilities.
- Cross departmental collaboration with the internal teams to ensure accuracy on invoicing for projects and production pay
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Knowledge of financial accounting and ability to adhere to general accounting principles
- Motivated and organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High standard of personal and professional integrity
- Flexibility and adaptability to assume additional responsibilities and accommodate report requests from management
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· Experience with Sage Intacct a plus
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3 year degree in a business-related discipline
- 4 years of experience directly related to the key duties of the role
- A can-do attitude with experience leading a team and building a strong company culture
- High proficiency with spreadsheets and other analytical tools
