We are seeking a highly skilled z/OS Mainframe Engineer to join our team, responsible for the installation, maintenance, customization, and support of IBM z/OS operating systems and related mainframe infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in managing mainframe environments, a deep understanding of hardware/software integration, and proficiency in third-party tools (preferably IBM and BMC).

- Install, configure, customize, and maintain the IBM z/OS operating system and its sub-products.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for mainframe infrastructure issues, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Manage the installation and support of 3rd-party software products, with preference for tools from IBM and BMC Software.
- Support and maintain various core components including:
- RACF (Resource Access Control Facility)
- TCP/IP networking
- SMTP, FTP, and TLS protocols
- SMS (System Managed Storage)
- Infoprint for print management
- Understand and support mainframe hardware configurations and related system tools.
- Work closely with operations, application, and infrastructure teams to ensure integration and alignment with enterprise standards and practices.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Provide documentation and knowledge transfer as needed.
Required:
- 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM z/OS mainframe environments
- Deep knowledge of z/OS installation, customization, and maintenance
- Experience supporting IBM and BMC third-party software
- Strong understanding of mainframe hardware configurations and management tools
- Proficient with RACF, TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, TLS, SMS, and Infoprint
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Experience in regulated or large-scale enterprise environments (e.g., financial services, healthcare)
- Exposure to automation and scripting within mainframe environments
- Familiarity with Agile/DevOps methodologies in legacy environments
