About the role

In partnership with our client, we are seeking an HTML5 Ad Developer to develop and animate digital display advertising.
You will take approved static designs, creative assets, and storyboards and quickly translate them into polished, lightweight, deployment-ready HTML5 ads. This includes establishing animation timing and sequencing, developing the ads, adapting them across multiple sizes and variations, and ensuring every deliverable meets client and advertising-platform specifications.
This is a development and animation-focused role, not a visual concepting or campaign design position. The ideal candidate is an experienced individual contributor who can independently own builds from creative handoff through development, QA, and final delivery while partnering with designers and project teams when clarification is needed.

What you'll do

• Develop animated HTML5 display and banner ads from approved static designs, creative assets, and storyboards.
• Translate creative direction into polished motion using sequencing, transitions, easing, masking, and timeline-based animation.
• Build ads using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and animation libraries such as GSAP.
• Independently manage assigned builds from creative handoff through development, QA, revisions, and delivery.
• Create master builds and efficiently adapt them into multiple standard and custom ad sizes.
• Maintain visual and animation consistency across all sizes, versions, and campaign variations.
• Make informed animation decisions when working from static layouts while remaining within the approved creative direction.
• Implement clickTags, click-through behavior, tracking requirements, and other platform-specific functionality.
• Ensure builds comply with client and platform specifications, including dimensions, file-size limits, animation duration, looping, loading performance, and asset requirements.
• Optimize code and assets to produce lightweight, reliable, and high-performing ads.
• Test and troubleshoot ads across browsers, devices, ad servers, and advertising environments.
• Perform detailed visual and functional QA against supplied designs, storyboards, and specifications. Identify and resolve HTML, CSS, JavaScript, animation, performance, and compatibility issues.
• Collaborate with designers and project partners to clarify motion, functionality, or technical requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized, and reusable code and production files.
• Manage a high volume of builds, resizes, revisions, and variations while meeting fast-paced campaign deadlines.

What we're looking for

• 3 years of professional experience in HTML5 ad development, creative development, digital ad production, front-end production, or a closely related role.
• Demonstrated experience independently developing and animating HTML5 display or banner advertisements.
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Strong experience with web-based animation.
• Experience translating both static designs and detailed storyboards into polished animated ads.
• Proficiency with Google Web Designer, Adobe Animate, or comparable HTML5 ad-production tools.
• Working knowledge of digital advertising requirements, including standard banner dimensions, file-size limits, clickTags, animation-duration limits, looping restrictions, and tracking specifications.
• Ability to build a lead size and efficiently adapt it across multiple dimensions and campaign variations.
• Strong animation instincts, including timing, pacing, easing, transitions, hierarchy, and sequencing.
• High attention to detail across typography, positioning, visual fidelity, animation, and functionality.
• Experience producing ads for Google Ads, Campaign Manager 360 (CM360), Display & Video 360 (DV360), or other programmatic advertising platforms.
• Familiarity with Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator for inspecting files and extracting or optimizing supplied assets.
• Experience working within established client brand guidelines and detailed technical specifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot HTML, CSS, JavaScript, browser compatibility, and ad-platform issues with limited oversight.
• Ability to balance speed, accuracy, and technical compliance in a deadline-driven production environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• A portfolio or work samples demonstrating previously developed and animated HTML5 ads.
• Must be based in the United States.
