Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Developer For John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group, Primarily Based In Urbandale, IA, With Additional Opportunities In Austin, TX And Chicago, IL You Will Work On The Analyze Applications Within Operations Center. These Applications Help Our Customers Dig Deeper Into Their Precision Agronomic Data To Understand What Is Driving Performance Within Their Fields. You Will Primarily Work On Front-end Development Using JavaScript And React With Additional Opportunity For Back-end Development Using NodeJS. Additionally, You Will

• Developing and supporting high quality John Deere agronomic web applications using React.js and Node.js
• Engaging in all aspects of the software delivery cycle including the design, build, test, deploy, and support of software applications
• Serving as a technical lead in support of software development for one or more teams
• Engaging in Agile software development activities including team sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
• Supporting a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation, Continuous Integration/Deployment, and DevOps methodologies
• Collaborating with Product Owners, Architects, and other supporting teams to define product requirements, system design, and delivery cadences
• Mentoring and developing junior team members through code pairing or other technical skill coaching

What Skills You Need

• 4 or more years combined experience with JavaScript, React.js, or Node.js in building web-client or server-side applications/services
• 4 or more years experience working on a team developing software leveraging Agile delivery methodologies
• 2 or more years experience with cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
• Demonstrated work experience in a team environment with skill in interpersonal communication
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
  
  

What Makes You Standout

• Experience in serving as the primary Technical Lead for a software development team.
• Experience with multiple programming languages or frameworks such as Redux, MobX, Java, Spring, etc.
• Experience with developing interactive maps leveraging Google Maps or similar
• Experience working with AWS technologies such as EC2, RDS, Lambdas, S3, SQS
• Experience with Test Driven Development and/or Acceptance Test Driven Development
• Experience with Precision Ag technologies and their use
• Advanced Engineering or Business related degree
  
  

Education

• Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or other IT related discipline
