As a Design Consultant, you will be expected to assist the customer in finding the right tile for their project. You will also assist in organization, cleaning, maintaining displays in the showroom, and management of the sample area in the warehouse. Customer satisfaction is our number one goal.

The applicant we are looking for will have some design experience, will be self-motivated and enthusiastic, and will have the ability to deliver a high level of customer service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Providing tile and stone advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects.
• Have a good balance between sales ability and creativity.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and have great communication skills.
• Have a familiarity with all capabilities and specifications of the porcelain, ceramic, stone, glass and metal tile that is represented in our showrooms.
• Be knowledgeable of the various setting material products, care and maintenance products and other allied products that Conestoga Tile offers.
• Properly communicate end-user selections to the dealer or contractor that will be selling the material to the end-user.
• Assist other showroom consultants with
• Maintaining all tile samples in the showroom to ensure an up to date selection.
• Ensuring that all price list and literature pieces are up to date.
• Inventory and maintenance of the sample room.
• Updating all product displays and designing vignettes.
• Organization and cleanliness of the displays in the showroom.
• In some locations (such as our Dulles, VA location) there will be times when the contractor counter will need assistance and therefore you will need to know:
• Basic knowledge of our Enterprise Resource Planning software in order to
• Enter customer orders
• Check inventory
• Check order status
• Knowledge of how to process “pick-up” orders at the counter.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

· High school diploma,

· Experience in at least one of the following: Interior Design, Fashion, Fabric, furniture, ceramic tile, showroom sales.

· Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.

· Ability to handle multiple selectors in the showroom at the same time.

· Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

· Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment and remain highly organized.

Physical Requirements

· Frequently moves tile/sample boards, up to 25 lbs., around the showroom while assisting customers.

· Constantly operates a computer.

· Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

· Frequently moves around the branch to assist customers.

Schedule: Showroom hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9a-5m, Thursday 9a-7p, Saturday 9a-2p.

· Candidates must be available to work on Saturdays. Would have off one day Monday- Friday. 38-40 hours per week.
