TCU is a 30-bed short-term skilled hospital-based rehab unit at MMC. Patients receive daily nursing care and a minimum of two hours/day of PT, OT, & SLP. TCU has 24 patient rooms, 18 private and 6 semi-private. Patients come for 10-12 days to recover, get stronger, and go home. Patients come to rehab at TCU for post-op care, wound care, teaching/training for new diagnoses, IV therapy, pain & chronic illness management.
Census up to 24:
7A = 3-4 licensed nurses - generally 2-3 RNs and 1-2 LPNs depending on census; 2-3 CNAs.
7P = 2-3 licensed nurses – RN/LPN combination; 2 CNAs
- Follows the plan of care established by the professional nurse and collaborates with member of the health care team.
- Recognizes, reports, and documents changes in the patient’s condition.
- Observes and documents the patient’s physiological condition such as appearance, vital signs, level of consciousness, or change in behavior and reports this to RN.
- Demonstrates skill and knowledge in carrying out and documenting all nursing interventions ordered by physician (i.e.: administration of medications, treatments, assistance with ADL; s etc.)
- Demonstrates patient’s response to interventions carried out.
- Consistently provides and documents reinforcement of patient teaching.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should have a current state LPN license and be a Graduate of a practical nursing program. Additional requirements include:
- CPR certification or completion upon hire
- One-year rehabilitation experience or one year of long-term care experience preferred
