Order Forecasting Analyst

Objective

The Order Forecasting Analyst is responsible for improving service levels by delivering accurate, data-driven demand forecasts that enable the business to have the right product, in the right place, at the right time.

Responsibilities/Expectations

· Maintain the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings, rationalizing inventory, and maximizing available working capital.

· Collaborate with sales and pricing teams to incorporate upcoming promotions, new product launches, and pricing changes into forecasts.

· Communicate new product forecasts to operations and sales leadership.

· Develop and maintain short and long-term demand forecasts at the SKU level.

· Ensures that product dates are accurately entered and tracked in the system. Use date considerations when forecasting and ordering.

· Track in transit orders to ensure timely arrival. Proactively communicate opportunities before they become supply issues.

· Responsible for the creation and maintenance of purchase orders in Encompass RAS.

· Minimize and manage overstock situations.

· Involved in the SKU management process along with sales.

· Initiate product transfers to maintain product freshness.

· Enforces companies receiving hours and dock booking policy to transport companies.

· Maintain records of goods ordered and received within Encompass RAS.

· Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.

· The accurate communication of information to the appropriate personnel in regard to inventory, order or purchasing issues from suppliers or transport companies.

· Analyze historical sales data, seasonality, promotions, and market trends to drive forecast accuracy.

· Build and maintain reports tracking forecast accuracy.

· Adherence to all company policies.

Position Requirements

· Knowledge of the brewing and beverage industry.

· Ability to identify patterns and trends in large data sets.

· Comfortable working with multiple data sources.

· Ability to manipulate large data tables in Excel and RAS system.

· Ability to use Data Visualization tools.

· Advanced Excel – pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas for data manipulation.

· Ability to understand Statistical Forecasting methods.

· Strong and effective communication skills for both internal and external communication. Must be able to develop effective working relationships with all internal team members.

· Must be able to interact and negotiate with all levels within Cone Distributing, departments and suppliers.

· Must have the aptitude to work within and foster a team environment.

· The ability to learn and understand the company’s route accounting software as well as our suppliers.

· Code date systems must be thoroughly understood.

· Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the sale and merchandising of malt beverages.

· Attend all staff meetings as scheduled.

· Understanding of supply chain fundamentals

· The ability to problem solve.

· The ability to use Smart Phones, computers, or other similar electronic devices in the performance of job duties.

Education Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Will consider candidates with 5 or more years of relevant experience.

· Computer skills-Word, Power Point, Excel

· Minimum 2 years in the beer or beverage industry
