Individuals joining as research participants will play a direct role in helping validate and improve next-generation brain–computer interface technologies.
Role Description This is an on-site Research Participant role based in San Francisco, CA. Research Participants will take part in structured 2-hour sessions designed to collect data related to thought-to-text and associated cognitive tasks. This means wearing a non-invasive headset, following on-screen or audio instructions, performing reading, typing, or recall tasks, and providing feedback on the tasks. The role involves typing, and some ability to touch-type. Each Research Participant is welcome to return for up to 10 2-hour sessions.
Qualifications
- Ability to speak, write, and understand English.
- Comfort with using computers, basic software interfaces, and wearable devices such as headsets or sensors under researcher guidance.
- Clear, professional communication skills preferred.
- Ability to touch-type preferred.
- Ability to sit or remain in a stable position for 2 hour periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Previous experience as a research participant, in usability testing, or in a laboratory setting is beneficial but not required.
