Description
The Mechanical Foreman leads a crew performing mechanical work on solar project sites, including racking and module installation and or pile/foundation installation. This role is responsible for task-level supervision, maintaining safety, productivity, and quality standards on a daily basis. The Mechanical Foreman serves as a hands-on leader who ensures work is completed in compliance with mechanical drawings and specifications.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Leads a mechanical installation crew of 3–10 team members. Responsible for daily task execution, crew safety, and quality of workmanship.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise and assist with pile installation, racking assembly, torque tube alignment, and module installation.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with plans, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures.
Conduct pre-task planning, safety meetings, and enforce jobsite safety protocols.
Coordinate material staging and inventory control to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
Track crew hours, production, and submit daily logs to the General Foreman.
Train and mentor installers on proper techniques and safety procedures.
Identify and address field issues, escalating when necessary for resolution.
Complies with all company policies.

Requirements
Familiarity with utility-scale racking and tracker systems.
Ability to read construction drawings and use measurement tools to verify installations.
Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
Willingness to travel and work in outdoor conditions.
Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED
3+ years of mechanical or solar construction experience.
1+ years of experience in a crew lead or supervisory role preferred.
OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, walking, and standing.
Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate computer keyboard and office equipment; vision for reading, recording and interpreting information; speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and other team members.
When navigating a job site, the ability to move around project sites, which may involve walking, climbing stairs, and navigating uneven terrain.
Valid driver’s license.
