Description
The Electrical General Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising the electrical workforce on large-scale renewable energy project sites. Working closely with the Electrical Superintendent, this role ensures safe, efficient, and quality installation of electrical systems while coordinating with other trades and construction teams. The General Foreman is the key point of contact between field crews and site leadership, helping ensure schedule and compliance goals are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises electrical Foremen, journeymen, apprentices, operators and laborers. Provides leadership, performance feedback, and guidance to ensure quality and safety on site.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise and assign tasks to a crew of electricians, apprentices, operators and laborers.
Ensure installation meets project specifications, electrical codes, and safety standards.
Assist with layout and planning of daily work to align with construction milestones.
Assists the Electrical Superintendent with Standard Work Instruction generation.
Troubleshoot field issues and communicate with the General Foreman on schedule or resource impacts.
Track labor hours and productivity, submitting accurate daily logs.
Conduct safety meetings and enforce jobsite safety expectations.
Coordinate tools and materials for daily tasks and assist in inventory control.
Mentor and train junior team members to build skillsets and promote safe work habits.
Comply with company policies.

Requirements
Proficient in reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
Strong understanding of NEC, safety regulations, and renewable energy standards.
Ability to manage crews, schedules, and field coordination with limited oversight.
Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Education/Experience:
Minimum 5 years of electrical construction experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or general foreman capacity.
Renewable energy experience preferred.
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, walking, and standing.
Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate computer keyboard and office equipment; vision for reading, recording and interpreting information; speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and other team members.
When navigating a job site, the ability to move around project sites, which may involve walking, climbing stairs, and navigating uneven terrain.
Valid driver’s license.
