Conductive Education Center of Orlando (CECO)
CECO is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Life Skills Instructor to support adults with neurological motor disabilities in developing independence and daily living skills. Our unique approach integrates Conductive Education to promote independence and holistic development.
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), exempt position focused on leading life skills and job skills programming within our Adult Program. The ideal candidate has experience working in group settings with adults with disabilities and is committed to helping individuals reach their highest level of independence.
Compensation:
Salary range is between $51,000–$53,000 annually, based on prior relevant experience.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience working in a group setting with adults with motor disabilities and/or special needs
- Relevant certification such as Direct Support Professional (DSP), Life Skills Instructor, or similar preferred
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of differentiated instructional methods for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities
- Understanding of behavior management, positive discipline, and redirection techniques

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement life skills and job skills programming for adult participants
- Create and submit written programs and complete progress reports
- Provide instruction in daily living skills, social skills, and community integration
- Support participants in achieving personal goals and independence
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan and implement activities
- Train, direct, and supervise assistants in classroom preparation and participant support
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
- Complete program documentation and meet all deadlines
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to assist with participant mobility, including transfers
- Ability to lift and move items up to approximately 40 lbs
- Ability to support participants with personal care tasks
- Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities
